What is the mod AEVA?

C'est quoi ce mod AEVA ?
It's the popular code modification that allows Youtube (and other) links to be turned into embedded videos. I'm taking over ownership of the mod following many requests from users and friends of Karl Benson, the original author, for whom I have much respect.

Yeah, I made most of the smileys myself :D Took me a few days... Mostly for the animated ones ;) I needed smileys that wouldn't be taller than the text size. So I came up with that. Thanks.

I will add more boards as needed. Currently, I think a single board should be more than enough. I will probably install Niko's Project Tools for bug reporting (or ask Dragooon to open up a section for Aeva over at smf-media, but I think it'd be best to have the bug tracker at the same place as the board -- otherwise it's confusing.)

Guests can post here, but I'm not surprised you would open an account ;)

I just modified the forum permissions to give more rights to guests, btw. (They couldn't post new topics in the first place.) If there's any abuse though, I'll revoke the extra rights.

I am too lazy to put email , name, and verification code all the time,
also i wanted to have a closer look at your site, which i find interesting although i can`t understand French, except a few words i remember from my French lesson at school some decades ago ....  :sifflote:

Yeah... I guess the only thing you can do other than on aeva.noisen.com is to listen to some music on Foxprog... Because it's universal... Although it's not to everyone's taste, clearly ;)

i am installing rev-5

suggestions:
don`t load all unnecessary language files
will you make the local file embed option work ?
i want embed from leechserver.com (direct link of media file)  --- even better to put our own address on where local file can be embed.
i want permissions for embedding file from external source (like above)-security reasons

Eheh... Didn't take you long to realize I have a SVN release system for Aeva too ;)
I'm not advertising it until the first release is out, though. But feel free to test it!

Yeah, I think so... I'll try to work it out, at least. Not this week, though.

at package-info.xml installs  uploads all translated language files ...... i think  :mouais:

to have an option at embed local files or embed any direct link files, to put the address of site that files can be embeded
an example of such site is leechserver.com
maybe it works from rapidshare too
as mod is designed now, has the option to embed only local files (same domain as forum)

if you implement the above feature, you should also give the ability to admin to give permission in certain groups that can embed local or any direct link files

does this makes sense to you ?  :ouhla:    :eheheh:  :hypocrite:

What makes sense to me, is to simply accept to embed videos via a flv player if a full URL to the actual file is provided... Whether local or remote.

why not wmv,mov,avi,rm files ?

I looked at old posts of aeva topic in simplemachines.

look at this : http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=200401.msg1736619#msg1736619

I think karlbenson didn`t want to implement external media files embed for security reasons ......
If security is in question, maybe you should make permissions for that action .... just in case ......  :mouais:

btw why am i the only one is posting here ?  :eheheh:  :ouhla:
